Iron & Heart

  • "Iron & Heart captures the unwavering spirit of the volunteers who breathe life into our Heritage railways.
Through a 'Fly on the Wall' approach, this project offers a glimpse into the daily dedication of those who ensure that the engines of the past continue to roll along our tracks. It shines a light on the often-overlooked efforts of these individuals, allowing the public to encounter heritage locomotives in all their historical glory.

These iron giants are not merely relics of history but serve as a conduit for the modern public to experience transport as it once was - a visceral, tangible connection to the past.

In this work, I aim to symbolically capture the passion and devotion of all volunteers, irrespective of the railway on which they serve. It is a tribute to the people who ensure that a significant part of our railway heritage remains alive, thriving, and accessible to future generations."

Above is my Artist Statement of what this project is. As a TLDR, I worked with the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway to create a project about Heritage Railway volunteers. I would say this is some of my most favourite work to-date, and some of my personal best work.
