Knaresborough Bed Race 2026

Here we are again with the Great Knaresborough Bed Race, 2026 edition.

The TLDR for those not in the know, the Bed Race is a yearly event held every June in Knaresborough consisting of a parade of decorated ‘beds’ down the high street in accordance with a set theme, then a time trial race all through the town over a roughly 2.4 mile long course. This was started in 1966 when the new Knaresborough Round Table wanted to make a charity event, which they decided to base on a time trial of teams pushing beds around the town. At the time, these were actual hospital beds, but now purpose-built ‘beds’ are used instead.

With this year being the 60th anniversary, and presumably linking it back to the decade it all started, the theme for this year was ‘The Swinging 60’s’, which I’m sure conjures up plenty of iconic Intellectual Properties and specific ideas from the 60’s. See what ones you know.
