The Coldstones Cut

  • The Coldstones Cut is an artwork sculpture created by Andrew Sabin which is located on top of Greenhow Hill in Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire. It is the highest and largest piece of public artwork in Yorkshire, being located at 1,375 feet above Sea Level.

The sculpture is also situated on an embankment overlooking the Coldstones Quarry, which is one of the highest quarries in Britain.

This was an interesting shoot as it was the first proper shoot I used my Drone in since the first test. It was quite challenging as being that high up meant that there was a lot of wind to contest with. This was no problem for me and my DSLR camera, but as the gusts were bordering on 25mph, which is roughly the crosswind limit for my Drone, I had to be very careful and timely with when I sent it up.

Considering the challenge, I would say the end result came out fairly okay, but it could be improved upon.
